Voting information – are you registered to vote?

Important Local elections take place on Thursday 3rd May 2018, so now is s good time to make sure you are registered to vote.

Poll cards are being sent to all those who are currently on the electoral register. If you have not received a poll card in a couple of weeks, please contact 0161 253 5252 or email electionservices@bury.gov.uk. Polling stations are open on Thursday 3rd May from 7am to 10pm. You do not need your polling card to vote!

You have until the 17th April to register to vote if they haven’t already done so. The quickest and easiest way to do this is by going online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. Voters will need their National Insurance number when they register. Contact the above details if you want a paper copy.

Residents who are registered for a postal vote will have received a postal poll card. Postal ballot packs will be delivered to electors on or around the 20th April. If you are not registered to vote by post, but would like to be you need to complete an application and return it by 5pm on the 18th April. You can download an application form to print here.
